Drew Hyun is the Founder and Pastor of Hope Church Midtown, as well as the Founding Pastor of Hope Church NYC, a family of diverse churches in and around NYC. Drew has also co-founded the New City Network, a network of urban churches that value multi-ethnicity, Spirit-filled ministry, emotional health, and mission.
Drew graduated from UC Berkeley in California with a major in rhetoric. He later went on to graduate from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts.
He has gone on to preach in many different contexts, both in the United States and abroad. His particular passion is for community and for the transformative power that community brings. He now lives in New York City with his lovely wife Christina, and their two children, David, and Avery. His most restful sabbath involves family, sports, and naps.
A self-professed country bumpkin, New York City was the last place David thought he would live in. A life-changing experience took David from the field of science to seminary,
After graduating from Tufts University, David went on to do cancer immunotherapy research at the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit.
David then went on to graduate from Alliance Theological Seminary.
He currently resides in Harlem with his lovely wife Lisa, where they both share a common interest in serving the people of New York City!
Cathy lives in midtown with her husband, son, cat and two dogs! Prior to serving at Hope, Cathy was on staff at Journey Church NYC as a campus teaching pastor.
In addition to full-time church ministry, Cathy has a diverse background, having performed on the Broadway stage, worked as a professional canine behavior consultant, and owned a business.
She is a graduate of 10K Fathers Worship School in Atlanta, holds a BFA in Music/Vocal Performance from the University of Missouri and currently finishing a Masters at Northern Theological Seminary.
Originally from Hong Kong, Winnie and her husband moved to New York in 2002 to start their business in the city. Winnie and her husband both live in midtown with their two children and their cat! They joined the Hope family in 2016. Winnie enjoys navigating city life as a parent, and loves exploring many cultural food options. Most of all, Winnie loves to get away with her family to some really quiet places.
Natalie spent the first part of her childhood growing up in East LA, then later moved with her family to Las Vegas when she was 10. Natalie attended Las Vegas Bible College and worked as an Intern at The Church LV assisting in Youth and Young Adult Ministry, with a strong passion for serving women who have been through sex trafficking.
Before recently moving to New York, Natalie was a Ministry Resident at Media City Church in Burbank, CA where she met and married her husband, Ari Bishop.
Natalie loves fashion, music, and she loves to write on her free-time.
Ari grew up in Simi Valley, CA, a suburb of Los Angeles. He graduated with an Associate of Arts from Life Pacific College, a bible college based in San Dimas, CA.
Prior to recently moving to New York, he worked at Media City Church in Burbank, CA as a Ministry Resident.
Ari’s passions range from serving the local to church, to working in the entertainment industry.
On his free-time, you can find him producing music, hanging out at coffee shops, or watching the latest films in theaters with his amazing wife, Natalie Bishop.
