The summer has been hot and humid and before we know it, it’ll start getting cool out. Before that happens why don’t we enjoy the heat at Fire Island! More specifically, Ocean Beach.
There are many activities, places to eat, sights to see, and spots to relax here on the island. In fact, this spot is also known to be the “capital” of fire island and many people go there for day trips!
The plan is to go on Saturday, August 18. Time is to be determined. The main method of transportation is a ferry from Long Island (Bay Shore, which you can get to by taking the LIRR). It will cost $19 round trip for adults and $9 for children (age 2-11). You can find the schedule for the ferry here.
Something to note is that the beach is a no eating/drinking zone so all the eating will have to be done outside the beach area.
Please email Peter Kim (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you can make it so we can try plan the day/meeting areas and if you have any concerns or questions.
Hope you can make it!
TL;DR - Ocean Beach on Fire Island, August 18, time TBD. From the city -> LIRR to Bay Shore -> Ferry to Fire Island. Lots of activities/sights/eating/quality time.
