HFNY volunteers will work with Habitat NYC to rehabilitate vacant, dilapidated homes in the Hollis section of Queens for low-income families. Volunteers will be working on affordable single family homes formerly owned by the New York City Housing Authority and sold to Habitat for $1 each. No construction experience is necessary as the Habitat staff will provide the training necessary.

Work could include demolition of the house to its structural shell, digging out the basement foundation, framing and other carpentry, sheetrock, flooring, or painting.

There will be a Habitat shuttle that drives volunteers to the work site from the E/J train stop to Jamaica Center - Parsons/Archer.
