We know that a large percentage of our homeless neighbors are battling mental illness and substance abuse while coping with the trauma of homelessness. But we often don't know why mental health among our homeless neighbors is such an overwhelming problem or what (if anything) a typical New Yorker could do to help.
Rescue Alliance invites you to learn more about the experiences of our homeless neighbors with mental health needs. Leaders of partner organizations will offer TED-Talk like presentations on the problems, solutions, and opportunities related to showing compassion, grace, and care for individuals surviving on the street.
